Who Is BB?

Let’s start from the beginning!

BB, aka Betsy. I was the 4th of 5 children born in Bloomington, MN. Five children, I don’t know how my mom and dad did it. Seriously!! I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. We are all so different but also kind of the same. After a couple moves, we ended in Eden Prairie, MN where I graduated from high school. From there I knew I wanted to study elementary education but really didn’t care where I went. I ended up going to University of North Dakota and indeed graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.

I returned to Eden Prairie to student teach and then began teaching 2nd grade at St. Bartholomew Catholic School. This is where I met my best friend. That story will have to be in a later post. It’s just too good and includes a spanking…eeek! This period of my life included a lot of online dating. Some good, some not so good, but again, that can be for another post. The end result was meeting my husband!!! Also in this time period, I went back to school to get my Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on learning Disabilites.

Then what? Well, my fiance got promoted to a job that took him out to Portland, OR. Yep, I was leaving everything I was comfortable with to follow the man I loved. It was an incredible opportunity and adventure for us. We got married on my 30th birthday. Best party ever! After 9 months in Portland we had to make another move to Seattle, WA. It was here that I became a 5th grade teacher and learning specialist. This is also where our little family grew with our first child, a little boy who looked exactly like his dad. Bubba was the sweetest little baby and I just couldn’t stand how cute he was. The pull to move back to Minnesota was strong and when Bubba was 16 months old my husband took a new job and we moved back. At this point I became a stay at home mom.

I grew up on the West Side of the Twin Cities and we came back and moved to the East Side. A new life began. We had a daughter, Sissy, in 2013. She is a dancing queen who came out knowing exactly what she wanted and figuring out just how she was going to get it. She struggled physically. More on that later. Four months after Sissy joined our family, my father-in-law passed away suddenly. This was an extremely difficult loss and still rattles us.

In January of 2015, I learned I lost a baby to miscarriage. I knew something was wrong but at 13 weeks, the day after my 37th birthday, I found out the baby had stopped developing. This was so devastating. It was a loss I didn’t understand or know how to deal with. But 3 short months later, I learned I was pregnant again. This guy, Baby, entered the world on Christmas Eve!!! Sorry kiddo, you kind of ruined your own birthday.

Three months after Baby joined the family my dad became gravely ill. He and my mom were down in Florida and he asked for his 5 children to fly down to be with him. We hopped on a plane and spent two weeks on and off with him until we all had to say goodbye. Gosh, life can change so quickly.

The last three years have been filled with family, friends, sports, dance, cooking, cleaning, laundry, laundry, laundry, and most importantly, love. I’ve surrounded myself with incredible people and I’m so thankful for that. Now I’ve been a stay at home mom for 7 1/2 years and I feel the need for a new challenge. That’s where this blog comes in. I wanted something to challenge myself but that wouldn’t make my life harder. Something I could do in my “spare” time. When I mentioned it to my sister, Binks, she wanted in too! So here we are! This is a project that is sure to evolve and change. I’ve been wanting to blog for many years but it never felt like the right time. Now it feels like the right time.

So join us as we share our stories with you and share products and deals that we love! We want to introduce you to our lives as well as things we love. My love is getting a good deal. Binks loves beauty products and self-discovery. So here we go!!!
